Nutritious food items aren’t usually major of thoughts throughout the holiday seasons. But most of the calendar year, advertising a foods as “healthier” can capture a consumer’s eye.

The U.S. Food items & Drug Administration has a official definition of what it implies for a foodstuff to be healthier, which the agency is at present functioning to update. But some in Wisconsin’s congressional delegation and agriculture field be concerned the new definition leaves out cranberries and tart cherries.

Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin joined a bipartisan team of federal lawmakers in sending a letter to the head of the Food and drug administration, inquiring the agency to make exceptions to the included sugar restrictions for the two special fruits.
