Publish a e-book: check. Lead investigation to a Harvard-run journal: look at. Launch a laptop or computer science camp for young men and women: check out.

That’s not all Paramus Superior College junior Danielle Park completed this past yr. She was topped one of 40 national winners, the only 1 from New Jersey, in the Countrywide Middle for Women of all ages and Information Technology’s Award for Aspirations in Computing.

The awards identify feminine, genderqueer or non-binary high university students across the U.S. who excel and wish to progress in know-how and computing. Out of more than 3,500 applicants, the center chose 360 honorable mentions alongside with 40 countrywide winners. Park gained scholarship revenue, a MacBook and other devices she can use to keep on her technological education and learning.

Park didn’t count on to earn the nationwide award the first time she used, a feeling she attributed to the “imposter syndrome” females and gender-various folks in STEM fields usually face.
