MACON – Mercer’s Binary Bears personal computer programming staff captured 1st location in Division II of the North American Southeastern Regional Worldwide Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), hosted on the University’s Macon campus this earlier weekend.
The 5-hour level of competition was held synchronously at five distinct websites in Alabama, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia. The competition was broken down into two divisions with every division having a individual challenge established. Each individual workforce consisted of three students sharing just one machine.
Mercer’s top rated crew and the total winner in Division II was Samantha Scholz, senior pc engineering main from Bonaire Adam Steinberg, senior personal computer science and computer system engineering double-important from Dahlonega and Emily Wilbourn, senior pc science key from Jefferson. They effectively solved 7 of the 12 challenges from the established.

Saturday marked the very first time Mercer hosted an ICPC regional on its campus considering the fact that 1994 and also coincided with the 15th anniversary of the 2007 Binary Bears competing in the Entire world Finals in Tokyo, Japan.
