Elizabeth Wilson-Evered and Kristen Green have been announced as the 2021 inductees into the Australian Fitness Awards Roll of Honour.
Recognising individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fitness industry in Australia, the Awards were announced at AUSactive’s (formerly Fitness Australia) Annual General Meeting in Sydney on Thursday last week.
The Roll of Honour recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fitness industry in Australia.
With over 30 years Industry experience, Kristen Green, Executive General Manager of Aquafit in south western Sydney, is a former Fitness Australia Board member.
First appointed to create a new aquatic and fitness business for Campbelltown Catholic Club in 2003, she has led the facility to number among the most recognised and awarded clubs in Australia.
Green (pictured) was named as Club Manager of the Year at the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards and was the 2018 recipient of the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association’s Woman Leader Award.
Elizabeth Wilson-Evered is a Research Fellow for Health and Sport and an honorary Professor at Victoria University with expertise in areas of mental health and physical activity, leadership in sport and health business performance.
She is also a current volunteer member of the Australian Fitness Industry Standard Council, having been the Chair from 2018-2020.
Advising that it was a great privilege to announce this year’s notable recipients, AUSactive Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish commented “inductees to the Fitness Industry Roll of Honour are ‘game-changers’ in the fitness industry and Elizabeth and Kristen are no exception. These ladies have made a significant impact to the growth and development of the fitness industry and have helped make the sector what it is today.
“Both Elizabeth and Kristen possess vision, integrity and entrepreneurial flair and have successfully used these attributes to create and introduce new concepts, products, standards and services into the Australian fitness industry, thereby changing the very nature of the sector and contributing to its long-term growth and prosperity.”
Commenting on being added to the Roll of Honour, Green stated “I am incredibly honoured and very grateful to receive this acknowledgement from Fitness Australia (AUSactive), and to be able to join past recipients who I have great admiration for as an ‘Roll of Honour’ inductee.
“It has been a privilege to have contributed to the professionalism and growth of the Australian Fitness Industry over the past 30 years. I am grateful for the opportunity that I have, to share this experience and knowledge with others.”
